LLD Scholars founded by Dr. Laura Lenear Dorsey, an educator for over 30 years and retired college professor. Dr. Dorsey worked on many mentoring and educational initiatives to assist low-income student to attend college. While sitting on many boards assisting and spearheading initiatives for youth in underprivileged areas, she noticed a more direct need in guiding the youth in their pathways after high school. While some students choose to go to college, some may choose to go directly into the workforce or the military. LLD Scholars mission is to create a safe environment where students can be embraced by the community, educated and guided along their chosen life path, whatever that may be. 

Over the past 15+ years, Dr. Dorsey has dedicated her life to that mission. Assisting over 150,000 students in their post high school direction. In this time, she has facilitated scholarships for students in the amount of over $1 Billion. She has guided students into major positions in Fortune 500 companies and assisted entrepreneurs in living their dreams with starting and establishing successful businesses. 

 Dr. Dorsey is currently spearheading, with some of the country’s most talented, passionate and experienced educators, executives, business owners, entrepreneurs and tech experts to bring for LLD Scholars College & Career Expos across the country. These expos bring together, in one place, all that Dr. Dorsey has done in her lifetime for the community to come together and rally around our youth and support them, while creating opportunities for all who choose to explore!
